Occupational dermatitis — wet work
Hands wet for long stretches can bring on irritant dermatitis — dryness, redness, cracking, itch. Plain wet work does it too: shampooing and rinsing all day causes dermatitis on its own, no chemicals required, which is why gloves go on for the rinse and not just the mix. It builds gradually rather than announcing itself, and once it's chronic it's hard to shift. This is the slow wet-work skin-disease side, separate from the chemical and allergic exposure covered under service chemicals.
