Skin contact causing dermatitis (the trade's signature injury); vapour exposure from acrylics and monomers in poorly ventilated nail work; sensitisation that ends careers. You'll know colour and bleach are hard on hands — every stylist does. The part that's easy to miss: the allergic kind is one-way. Once your skin sensitises to a product it's sensitised for life — careers end on it, and it starts as ordinary dry, itchy skin that gets ignored.
